Course: Managing Puberty Issues
(Focus: Primary/Secondary School)
We as parents went through puberty and we knows at times it could be very confusing, intense and even scary. Imagine how much worst it could be for children with autism. As parents, it can be very scary to think about how to manage your children of surging hormones. You may have already have a lot of questions about sexuality and other special needs when your children are in or reaching puberty. Some of that fear is a worry about regression as well as the fear of sexual abuse which runs deep in the special needs community. All the more reason not to put off sexuality and sex education. It is so nice and appropriate that Pathlight had and will be again conducting this essential course that help parents to cope with this challenging stage of their child development. It is a very good course and I strongly encourage you to attend it if you know that you are or will be facing with your child’s puberty challenges soon.
