Next Step after Assessment: Early Intervention and Therapy

You have sent your child for a test/assessment on whether she/he has autism, so what is the next step? For one thing, the outcome of such an assessment is a definitive diagnosis of autism (or not) and a clear statement of intervention needs.

After the assessement, you will need to get as early treatment to your child as possible.  The intervention needs listed on the assessement give you some idea of which areas that need improvements.  Get more information from the person conducting the assessement and advice on how to get early intervention.

Some of the early intervention could fall under:

  • Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
  • Learning Difficulties
  • Motor Skills
  • Speech Therapy
  • Life Skills
  • Other Autism Therapy
