Course: Certification in Autism

Course: Certification in Autism – 2nd Intake (Focus: Primary/Secondary/SPED)

This is an applied programme which is skills-based and is developed and taught by practitioners who work “hands-on” with individuals with autism and who understand the challenges of learning and application of skills within the Singapore context.

The course leads to certification and is designed for both practitioners (teachers, educators, therapists and professionals) and parents/caregivers who work directly with individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). It is developed by a team of highly experienced and dedicated professionals from various disciplines in Singapore, Australia and the United States of America.  Primarily, the Certificate in Autism focuses on building skills which enables a practitioner or parent/caregiver to work more effectively with individuals with autism.

The programme is designed to bridge the “knowing-doing” gap by adopting a highly “hands-on” approach to learning.  Participants will be expected to immediately translate theoretical frameworks into a practical model, which directs them to analyse needs, select priority goals and design individualised methodology to teach individuals (with autism) with varying needs and experiences.
