Course Description

This training workshop is meant for parents/caregivers, teachers/educators, therapists and professionals caring for young children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This workshop aims to empower participants with the knowledge and awareness to evaluate the different approaches and programmes for early intervention for their young child with autism.


During this workshop, participants will

  • be given an overview of theory and practice of major intervention approaches in the field of autism,
  • also be given research knowledge of the major intervention approaches so as to make informed choices
Participants in this training workshop will be exposed to “real-life” case examples which will focus discussion on key issues in evaluating the different approaches and programmes for early intervention for their young child with autism.

The workshop will also encourage the participants’ self-reflection on how the information applies to their own child and how the knowledge presented can be utilised to help make informed choices.




Objectives of The Course

This course will enable you to :


  • Have a fundamental understanding of the different approaches for early intervention for their young child with autism
  • Make a comparison of the different approaches taking into consideration the pros and cons and the strengths of each approach
  • Evaluate the different approaches and programmes based on their child’s needs
