Rainbow Centre Training & Consultancy is organising the More Than Words Hanen course.
The More than Words programme empowers parents by giving them the tools to facilitate their children’s interaction and communication skills. More Than Words derives its theoretical basis from social interactionist perspectives, emphasising the child’s every day activities as the context for learning to communicate. In addition, More Than Words incorporates current best practice guidelines, emphasising the importance of affect, predictability, structure and use of visual supports to enhance learning in children with ASD.
Program Format
Each More Than Words Programme can accomodate six to eight families and is led by a Hanen Certified Speech-Language Pathologist. The entire programme lasts 13 weeks.
Each programme includes:

An orientation meeting

A pre-programme consultation

Eight group training sessions
-
Three individual video feedback sessions for each family, conducted by the Speech- Lang Therapist in the family’s home

A written report by the Speech- Lang Therapist

Parent evaluation of the programme
Programme Schedule

Orientation session: 30 January 2009, 7-9 pm
-
Group sessions: 13,20 & 27 February, 20 & 25 March, 17 & 24 April, 15 May (all sessions from 7-10 pm)

Home visits (weekday evening after 7 pm or weekends 9-5 pm)
Program Fees

S$1300 per family (2 members max), payable in two equal installments.

First installment to be paid during registration and the second by 25 March 2009.
