Course: Creating An Autism-Friendly Learning Environment

Course: Creating An Autism Friendly learning Environment (Focus: EIP/SPED)

"Learners in supportive environments have high levels of self efficacy and self-motivation and use learning as a primary transformative force" (Bereiter & Scardamalia, 1989).

Environment setting could affect our mood and the effectively of our learning. Individuals with an Autism Spectrum Disorder or autism have to work harder than their typical counterparts at paying attention to the relevant information when they learn. They also have to consciously anticipate the type of behavior that they can display which is acceptable and appropriate for the environment.

This training workshop aims to provide parents and caregivers with the knowledge and skills in getting their child ready for learning by creating an environment that is conducive to the learning style of their child with autism.
